Treatment for Hair Loss & Scalp Diseases Our treatment for hair and scalp disorders is usually conducted on site within a clinical environment. Our procedures have proved effective in assisting patients re grow their hair or remove or control scalp conditions. Please note, not all scalp conditions can be removed, however the vast majority may be treated and controlled by removing that constant itch or discomfort or unwanted dandruff/crusting. So what do we do to treat hair loss or a scalp condition?Hair Loss Conditions In many cases of acute conditions, the body effectively recognises itself as an enemy and attacked the hair follicles causing the hair to fall. A variety of stimulation treatments causes the body to react to what we are doing effectively taking the body's mind off what it is doing and starts to react to the stimulation therefore causing the natural hair cycle to return to that of the norm. Skin Conditions & Disease When considering scalp conditions in most cases the crust that remains on the head is causing a barrier to the underlying skin. In order to allow the skin to breath the crusting needs to be removed firstly to allow any treatment (possible creams etc) to lie directly on the affected scalp region. Skin disease often caused the cells to proliferate at an increased rate which leads to the presence of crusting or dandruff. Removing the crusting and treating the underlying skin causes the gradual slowing of the cell proliferation and causes the skin to return to that of the norm. Under no circumstances should the removal of this crusting be attempted at home. The skin needs to be set prior to any attempt to remove the crust otherwise there is a high risk of wounding the skin or causing secondary infection. Home Treatments We do encourage patients to use certain products at home in order to assist stabilising the condition. These can be purchased by contacting the practice.
